You can go paperless and receive your statement via email – which is accessible via password.
Going paperless with Absa eStatements
Absa eStatements makes it easy to go paperless – cutting the hassle and clutter of paperwork and saving time and the environment. With no additional cost for this service, your eStatement is sent directly to your email inbox each month.
Security when receiving eStatements
eStatements are also the target of phishing attacks, and fraudsters often try to gain access to your personal information and defraud you. eStatements are encrypted, and will require a password to be opened.
Digital certificates
A digital certificate is a password-protected file that includes the name and email address of the certificate holder; an encryption key that can be used to verify the digital signature of the holder; the name of the company issuing the certificate; and the period during which the certificate is valid.
How digital certificates work
Once Digital Certificates are fully implemented, all emails that are sent to Absa customers will originate from the officialemail@absa.co.za address, and will have a digital certificate that will be able to authenticate the source and ensure that the contents of the email has not been tampered with from the time that it was sent.
