  • How to retrieve forgotten PIN

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your LAST KNOWN 5-digit PIN
      Tap Send
    2. Select option 1 to Reset PIN
      Tap Send
    3. Enter your ID/Passport number
      Tap Send
    4. Enter a new 5 digit PIN
      Tap Send
    5. Your PIN is now successfully reset

    5. Enter either your SA ID number or your passport number and
      Tap Send
    6. Enter a 5-digit numeric PIN 
      Tap Send
    7. You have successfully registered

How to make online payments

  • How to make a third party payment

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select option 3 for Payments
      Tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Existing beneficiaries
      Tap Send
    4. Select the beneficiary you would like to pay
      Tap Send
    5. Select the account you want to make the payment from
      Tap Send
    6. Enter the amount to pay
      Tap Send
    7. Enter the beneficiary reference
      Tap Send
    8. Select an option to send proof of payment
      Tap Send
    9. Confirm the payment details and select 1 to Accept
      Tap Send
    10. Transaction is successful

     

    Note: There is a daily limit of R5 000 and a monthly limit of R10 000 for third party payments. To add a third party beneficiary to your Cellphone Banking please visit your nearest Absa branch.

  • How to send money

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 5 to proceed
      Tap Send
    3. Select 2 to send to a new beneficiary
      Tap Send
    4. Enter the recipient’s cellphone number
      Tap Send
    5. Enter the recipient’s name
      Tap Send
    6. Select the account you wish to debit
      Tap Send
    7. Enter the amount you wish to send
      Tap Send
    8. Enter the 6-digit code that the recipient will use to get the fund from an Absa ATM
      Tap Send
    9.  Confirm the transaction by selecting 1
      Tap Send
    10. Send the access code and amount of money sent to the recipient

     

    Note: The CashSend limit for Cellphone Banking is a minimum of R20 and a maximum of R500 per day.

     

How to buy prepaid online

  • How to buy prepaid electricity

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 2 for Prepaid 
      Tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Electricity
      Tap Send
    4. Select 2 for New beneficiary
      Tap Send
    5. Enter the meter number 
      Tap Send
    6. Enter the recipient’s name 
      Tap Send
    7. Enter the amount
      Tap Send
    8. Select the account you wish to debit
      Tap Send
    9. Select 1 to Continue
      Tap Send
    10. Select 1 to Accept transaction
      Tap Send
    11. Select option where you would like to send the purchase information
      Tap Send
    12. Your transaction is successful

    Note: You can purchase a prepaid minimum amount of R30 to a maximum of

    R1 000 per day. A prepaid maximum amount of R3 000 can be purchased per month. For prepaid electricity queries please call us on 08600 08600.

  • How to resend a prepaid electricity token

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 2 for Prepaid
      Tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Electricity
      Tap Send
    4. Select option 3 to Resend token
      Tap Send
    5.   Select the beneficiary you wish to resend the token for
      Tap Send
    6. Select the applicable transaction
      Tap Send
    7.  Select the cellphone number you wish to resend the token to
      Tap Send
    8. Your token is successfully resent

How to manage your accounts online

  • How to view your cheque account balance

    1. Add the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*2272# to your contacts
    2. Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number from your contact list to logon
    3. Enter your 5-digit PIN
    4. Select 1 for Balances 
      Tap Send
    5. If you only have a cheque account your balance will immediately display
    6. If you have more than one account linked to your portfolio, all your account will display
    7. Select the number your cheque account is linked to
      Tap Send
    8. Your balance will be displayed
    9. Select 1
      Tap send to return to the main menu

  • How to redeem your Absa Rewards in cash

     

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 6 for Absa Rewards  
      Tap Send
    3. Select 2 to Redeem Cash
      Tap Send
    4. Select the number associated to the account you want to credit
      Tap Send
    5. Enter the amount you want to redeem
      Tap Send
    6. Select 1 to confirm the transaction   
      Tap Send
    7. Your cash rewards are successfully redeemed

  • How to resend proof of payment

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select option 3 for Payments
      Tap Send
    3. Select 5 for Manage payments
      Tap Send
    4. Select 2 to Resend proof of payment
      Tap Send
    5. Select the beneficiary you want to resend proof of payment to
      Tap Send
    6. Select the transaction
      Tap Send
    7. Select an option to send proof of payment
      Tap Send
    8. Select an option to Confirm cellphone number
      Tap Send
    9. Proof of payment successfully resent
