How to register/login

  • Reset your PIN

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your LAST KNOWN 5-digit PIN
    2. Tap Send, then select option 1 to Reset your PIN
    3. Tap Send, then enter your ID/Passport number
    4. Tap Send, then enter a new 5-digit PIN and tap Send
    5. You have successfully reset your PIN!

  • Register for Absa Cellphone Banking

    1. Add the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*2272# to your contacts 
    2. Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number from your contact list
    3. Select 1 to accept the terms and conditions and tap Send
    4. Enter your SA ID number or your passport number and tap Send
    5. Enter your 5-digit numeric PIN and tap Send
    6. You have successfully registered

  • Log in to Absa Cellphone Banking

    1. Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*227# 
    2. Enter your 5-digit PIN and tap Send
    3. You will be taken directly to the Absa Cellphone Banking menu 
    4. Enter the digit of the service you need and tap Send

How to make online payments

  • Make a third-party payment

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select option 3 for Payments, then tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Existing beneficiaries, then tap Send
    4. Select the beneficiary you would like to pay, then tap Send
    5. Select the account you want to make the payment from, then tap Send
    6. Enter the amount to pay, then tap Send
    7. Enter the beneficiary reference, then tap Send
    8. Select an option to send proof of payment to, then tap Send
    9. Confirm the payment details, select 1 to Accept, then tap Send
    10. You have successfully made a third-party payment!

    Note: There is a daily limit of R5 000 and a monthly limit of R10 000 for third party payments. To add a third-party beneficiary to your Cellphone Banking please visit your nearest Absa branch.

  • Send money (CashSend)

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 3 to proceed, then tap Send
    3. Select 2 to send to a new beneficiary, then tap Send
    4. Enter the recipient’s cellphone number, then tap Send
    5. Enter the recipient’s name, then tap Send
    6. Select the account you wish to debit, then tap Send
    7. Enter the amount you wish to send, then tap Send
    8. Enter the 6-digit code your recipient will use to withdraw from an Absa ATM, then tap Send
    9. Confirm the transaction by selecting 1, then tap Send
    10. Send the access code and money to your recipient
    11. You have successfully sent money!

    Note: The CashSend limit for Cellphone Banking is a minimum of R20 and a maximum of R500 per day.

How to buy prepaid online

  • Buy prepaid electricity

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 2 for Prepaid, then tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Electricity, then tap Send
    4. Select 2 for New beneficiary, then tap Send
    5. Enter the meter number, then tap Send
    6. Enter the recipient’s name, then tap Send
    7. Enter the amount, then tap Send
    8. Select the account you wish to debit, then tap Send
    9. Select 1 to Continue, then tap Send
    10. Select 1 to Accept transaction, then tap Send
    11. Select the option where you would like to send the prepaid token, then tap Send
    12. You have successfully bought electricity!

    Note: You can purchase a prepaid minimum amount of R30 to a maximum of R1 000 per day. A prepaid maximum amount of R3 000 can be purchased per month. For prepaid electricity queries please call us on 08600 08600.

  • Resend a prepaid electricity token

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 2 for Prepaid, then tap Send
    3. Select 2 for Electricity, then tap Send
    4. Select option 3 to Resend the token, then tap Send
    5. Select the beneficiary you wish to resend the token to, then tap Send
    6. Select the applicable transaction, then tap Send
    7.  Select the cellphone number you wish to resend the token to, then tap Send
    8. You have successfully resent a prepaid electricity token!

How to manage your accounts online

  • View your account balance

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 1 for Balances, then tap Send
    3. If you only have one account your balance will immediately display
    4. If you have more than one account linked to your portfolio, all your accounts will be displayed
    5. Select the number your account is linked to, then tap Send
    6. Your balance will be displayed!

  • Redeem your Absa Rewards in cash

    1. Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select 9 for other services
    3. Select 1 for Absa Rewards, then tap Send
    4. Select 1 to Redeem Cash, then tap Send
    5. Select the number associated with the account you want to credit, then tap Send
    6. Enter the amount you want to redeem, then tap Send
    7. Select 1 to confirm your transaction
    8. Select 1 to accept then tap Send
    9. You have successfully redeemed your cash rewards!

  • Resend proof of payment

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your 5-digit PIN
    2. Select option 3 for Payments, then tap Send
    3. Select 5 to Manage payments, then tap Send
    4. Select 2 to Resend proof of payment, then tap Send
    5. Select the beneficiary you want to resend proof of payment to then tap Send
    6. Select the transaction, tap Send
    7. Select an option to send proof of payment, then tap Send
    8. Select an option to Confirm your cellphone number, then Tap Send
    9. You have successfully resent proof of payment!
