How to log in for the first time
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Enter your Access account number
- Enter your Online PIN
- Verify the user number (Note: This field is defaulted to main User 1. Other users given access to the account need to enter the user number allocated to them)
- Click Next
- Set up your password and click Logon
- You will be directed to the Absa Online main account page

How to link a new device (if you have your current device)
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- Click Menu in the top left of your screen
- Scroll down and select Settings
- Click Manage devices
Select Link a device - Download the Absa Banking App on your device
Click I have installed the App once download is complete - You will be prompted to choose if you have your current verification device with you
Should you have the current device, select Yes, I have it - Accept the verification request sent to the current device
- A QR code will pop up
- Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
Select I’m already with Absa
Tap Scan QR code on the top
Scan the QR code using your device - Enter device nickname then tap Next or Skip to continue
- Create a new 5-digit app passcode
Re-enter 5-digit passcode to confirm
Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
Tap Continue - Select Yes to accept new device as your verification device
- Accept the verification request sent to your current device
- Your new device is successfully linked

Click Next - Under the Absa Online Security Information section, choose a strong 5-digit PIN
Confirm the PIN for Absa Online
Click Register - Confirm SureCheck

How to re-link a device (if you don't have your current device)
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- Click Menu in the top left of your screen
- Scroll down and select Settings
- Click Manage devices
Select Link a device - Download the Absa Banking App on your device
Click I have installed the App once download is complete - On the prompt screen select No, I don’t have it if you don’t have a current verification device
- Select the reason for verification device being unavailable
Note: read the details in the information box
Click Next - Enter your previous App passcode, ATM card number and PIN
Click Next - A QR code will pop up
- Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
Select I’m already with Absa

How to register a non-transactional account
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Click Register
- On the Absa Online Registration page enter your details and the captcha code and click Next
- Enter title and email address
Tick the Personal Client Agreement checkbox
Click Next - Create a strong PIN you will use to logon to your Online Banking account
Confirm the PIN
Click on Register - Accept SureCheck sent to your registered device
- Registration is successful

How to reset your password

Complete the Logon details
Click next - Click on Forgot password
- Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
- Create a new password
Re-enter the new password to confirm

- Enter your access account number, user number and the code in the box (Captcha)

How to reset your PIN and password using Facial Biometrics
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- On the logon page, click Reset Pin
- Enter your Account number, User number and the CAPTCHA code
Click Next - A verification request will be sent to your phone
Tap on the verification request
Insert your passcode and tap Scan to accept - Tick to agree to Scan your face and to verify your Identity
Tap Scan my face - Tap Allow for the Absa Banking App to access your camera
- Look directly at your phone and follow the prompts on the screen to scan your face
- Enter a 5-digit PIN to reset your Absa Online Banking PIN
Re-enter the 5-digit PIN
Tap Confirm - Your Absa Online Banking PIN is successfully changed
Tap Done - If you need to change your Password, tap on Change my password?
- Enter your new password, re-enter it and tap Confirm
- Your Absa Online Banking password is successfully changed

Note: Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Absa Banking App and that your cellphone number is updated with Absa.
If you have deleted your verification device or have a new device which is not yet linked, you will need to link your device first using Facial Biometrics before you can reset your PIN and Password.

How to temporarily lock your card on Express Banking
- On the Absa website home page https://www.absa.co.za/ click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- Click on the Express tab
- Click Settings
- Under Card management, click on Temporary lock

How to buy prepaid electricity for a new beneficiary

Select Prepaid electricity from the dropdown - Click Buy for someone new
- Accept the verification request that is sent to your registered device
- Enter the Meter number
Click Search - Complete the Purchase details
Click Next - View the prepaid electricity purchase details
Click Confirm - Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
- Your prepaid electricity purchase is successful and your token will display on screen

Note: Some institutions such as SARS, municipalities or department stores can't be paid normally because Absa has already added them as beneficiaries. These types of beneficiaries are called 'Absa listed beneficiaries'.

How to send money to a new beneficiary using CashSend
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- Click CashSend on the top of the screen
- Select CashSend beneficiaries
- Click on CashSend a new beneficiary
- Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
- Complete the Beneficiary details as well as the CashSend details
Click Next - Verify the CashSend details and click Confirm
- Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
- Your CashSend transaction is successful

Note: The CashSend limit for Online Banking is a minimum of R20 and a maximum of R3 000 per day. This limit applies to existing and once-off beneficiaries. A CashSend payment is valid for 30 days. You can also manage your unredeemed CashSend transactions on Absa Online Banking.

How to make an immediate payment to an existing beneficiary
- On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
- Login to your account using your credentials
- Click on the Pay tab
- Select Pay someone new
Accept the verification request sent to your registered cellphone number
- Enter Beneficiary name and the amount you would like to pay
- Click on the tick box to make an Immediate Interbank Payment (IIP)
- Enter your reference and your beneficiary reference
- Complete the Notice of payment details
Click Next - Click confirm to accept payment details
Accept the verification request sent to your registered cellphone number
- A Payment is successful message and the Immediate Interbank reference number will pop up
- Click Done or select Pay another to make another payment

- To add a recurring payment, click Add recurring payment

Complete Recipient, Payment schedule and Referencing details. then click Next

Your recurring payment is scheduled successfully
Click Done - To delete a recurring payment, select an existing Recipient and click Edit

How to update your FICA status
- On the Absa website home page click on Log in on the top right of the screen
- Logon to Absa Online Banking
- Click Full service on the top right of the screen
- Click on the Profile tab
Click FICA Documents - Read the instructions and click Upload documents
- A screen will pop up. Under the Proof of Address option, click Choose a file
- Select the document you want to upload, then click Open
- Select What type of document is this from the dropdown list, then click Upload
- Under the Proof of Identification option, click Choose a file
- Select the document you want to upload, then click Open
- Select What type of document is this from the drop-down list, then click Upload
- You have successfully uploaded your FICA documents
Note: The following file types can be uploaded: GIF, JPEG, PDF, PNG, TIFF. The maximum file size you can upload is 2MB. If your file does not adhere to the above rules, it will not be selected and uploaded.
After you have uploaded the documents it can take up to 48 hours before your FICA status will be updated on our system. Please note should we find the files you uploaded to be unsatisfactory, we will ask you to upload quality versions of the files.

How to reverse your debit order

- Select Transact on the side menu
- Click My Debit Orders
- Select the account that was used to make the debit order payment
View your debit order, then select Stop and Reverse - Select Reverse payment
Choose the reason for the reversal, accept the disclaimer and then click Next - Accept the verification request
- Debit order is successfully reversed

- Click on the Profile tab

- On the Accounts sub-tab, select the account you want to link and click on the Link icon
The account will now move to the Accounts linked side
Click Save - The account is linked successfully
