How to register/login

  • How to register (new user)

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Click Register
    3. On the Absa Online Registration page, enter your details and the code on the screen
      Click Next
    4. Enter your ATM card number and PIN
      Click Next
    5. Select the account to be charged
      Enter your email address and select your title
    6. Read and accept the Personal Client Agreement
      Click Next
    7. Under the Absa Online Security Information section, choose a strong 5-digit PIN
      Confirm the PIN for Absa Online
      Click Register
    8. Confirm SureCheck
    9. You are now registered to use Absa Online Banking

  • How to log in for the first time

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Enter your Access account number
    3. Enter your Online PIN
    4. Verify the user number (Note: This field is defaulted to main User 1. Other users given access to the account need to enter the user number allocated to them)
    5. Click Next
    6. Set up your password and click Logon
    7. You will be directed to the Absa Online main account page

      Note: We are in the process of upgrading our internet banking. If you cannot find any feature you are looking for please click Full Service.

  • How to log in

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Enter your Access account number
    3. Enter your Online PIN
    4. Verify the user number (Note: This field is defaulted to main User 1. Other users given access to the account need to enter the user number allocated to them)
      Click Next
    5. Enter the missing characters of your password that you created when you logged in to Absa Online Banking for the first time (Note: Password is case sensitive)
      Click Logon
    6. You will be directed to the Absa Online main account page

  • How to link a new device (if you have your current device)

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Menu in the top left of your screen
    4. Scroll down and select Settings
    5. Click Manage devices
      Select Link a device
    6. Download the Absa Banking App on your device
      Click I have installed the App once download is complete
    7. You will be prompted to choose if you have your current verification device with you
      Should you have the current device, select Yes, I have it
    8. Accept the verification request sent to the current device
    9. A QR code will pop up
    10. Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
      Select I’m already with Absa
      Tap Scan QR code on the top
      Scan the QR code using your device
    11. Enter device nickname then tap Next or Skip to continue
    12. Create a new 5-digit app passcode
      Re-enter 5-digit passcode to confirm
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
      Tap Continue
    13. Select Yes to accept new device as your verification device
    14. Accept the verification request sent to your current device
    15. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to re-link a device (if you don't have your current device)

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Menu in the top left of your screen
    4. Scroll down and select Settings
    5. Click Manage devices
      Select Link a device
    6. Download the Absa Banking App on your device
      Click I have installed the App once download is complete
    7. On the prompt screen select No, I don’t have it if you don’t have a current verification device
    8. Select the reason for verification device being unavailable
      Note: read the details in the information box
      Click Next
    9. Enter your previous App passcode, ATM card number and PIN
      Click Next
    10. A QR code will pop up
    11. Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
      Select I’m already with Absa
      Tap Scan QR code on the top
      Scan the QR code using your device
    12. Enter device nickname then tap Next or Skip to continue
    13. Create a new 5-digit app passcode
      Re-enter 5-digit passcode to confirm
      Tap Continue
    14. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to register a non-transactional account

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Click Register
    3. On the Absa Online Registration page enter your details and the captcha code and click Next
    4. Enter title and email address
      Tick the Personal Client Agreement checkbox
      Click Next
    5. Create a strong PIN you will use to logon to your Online Banking account
      Confirm the PIN
      Click on Register
    6. Accept SureCheck sent to your registered device
    7. Registration is successful
      Click Done

How to bank securely online

  • How to reset your PIN and password using Facial Biometrics

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. On the logon page, click Reset Pin
    4. Enter your Account number, User number and the CAPTCHA code
      Click Next
    5. A verification request will be sent to your phone
      Tap on the verification request
      Insert your passcode and tap Scan to accept
    6. Tick to agree to Scan your face and to verify your Identity
      Tap Scan my face
    7. Tap Allow for the Absa Banking App to access your camera
    8. Look directly at your phone and follow the prompts on the screen to scan your face
    9. Enter a 5-digit PIN to reset your Absa Online Banking PIN
      Re-enter the 5-digit PIN
      Tap Confirm
    10. Your Absa Online Banking PIN is successfully changed
      Tap Done
    11. If you need to change your Password, tap on Change my password?
    12. Enter your new password, re-enter it and tap Confirm
    13. Your Absa Online Banking password is successfully changed
      Tap Done

     

    Note: Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Absa Banking App and that your cellphone number is updated with Absa.

     

    If you have deleted your verification device or have a new device which is not yet linked, you will need to link your device first using Facial Biometrics before you can reset your PIN and Password.

  • How to temporarily lock your card on Express Banking

    1. On the Absa website home page https://www.absa.co.za/ click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2.  Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on the Express tab
    4. Click Settings
    5. Under Card management, click on Temporary lock
    6. Accept SureCheck
    7. Click on the dropdown and select the card you want to lock
    8. Select the transaction) you want to lock by ticking the boxes
    9. Click Next
    10. Click Confirm
    11. Accept SureCheck

    2. On the logon page click Reset pin
    3. Enter your access account number, user number and the code in the box (Captcha)
      Click Next

    6. Enter your 16-digit ATM card number and ATM PIN

How to buy prepaid online

  • How to buy prepaid electricity for a new beneficiary

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on the Buy tab in the top left of the screen
      Select Prepaid electricity from the dropdown
    4. Click Buy for someone new
    5. Accept the verification request that is sent to your registered device
    6. Enter the Meter number
      Click Search
    7. Complete the Purchase details
      Click Next
    8. View the prepaid electricity purchase details
      Click Confirm
    9. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    10. Your prepaid electricity purchase is successful and your token will display on screen

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Manage beneficiaries on the side menu
    4. Click PrePaid electricity under View and manage beneficiaries
    5. Click Resend notice on the specific beneficiary that you wish to resend the token for
    6. From the Purchase history, find the desired transaction  
      Click More
      Click Resend notice
    7. Complete the Notification details
      Click Next
    8. View the Notice of purchase details
      Click Confirm
    9. Your notice is successfully resent
      Click Done

How to make online payments

  • How to send money to a new beneficiary using CashSend

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click CashSend on the top of the screen  
    4. Select CashSend beneficiaries
    5. Click on CashSend a new beneficiary
    6. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    7. Complete the Beneficiary details as well as the CashSend details
      Click Next
    8. Verify the CashSend details and click Confirm
    9. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    10. Your CashSend transaction is successful
      Click Done

    Note: The CashSend limit for Online Banking is a minimum of R20 and a maximum of R3 000 per day. This limit applies to existing and once-off beneficiaries. A CashSend payment is valid for 30 days. You can also manage your unredeemed CashSend transactions on Absa Online Banking.

  • How to make an immediate payment to an existing beneficiary

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Login to your account using your credentials
    3. Click on the Pay tab
    4. Select Pay someone new
      Accept the verification request sent to your registered cellphone number
    5. Enter Beneficiary name and the amount you would like to pay 
    6. Click on the tick box to make an Immediate Interbank Payment (IIP) 
    7. Enter your reference and your beneficiary reference
    8. Complete the Notice of payment details
      Click Next
    9. Click confirm to accept payment details
      Accept the verification request sent to your registered cellphone number
    10. A Payment is successful message and the Immediate Interbank reference number will pop up
    11. Click Done or select Pay another to make another payment

  • How to resend a notice of payment to a once-off beneficiary

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Transact on the side menu
    4. Under My useful functions, click on the My once-off payments tab
    5. Select the once-off beneficiary
      Click on Resend notice of payment
    6. Complete the Notice of payment details on the pop out
      Click Next
    7. Click Confirm to verify the notice of payment details
    8. Notice of payment is successfully resent

  • How to apply for a Personal Loan

    1. On the Personal Loan page, click on the Apply now button
    2. For existing customers, select Absa customer and use Online Banking
      Click Let’s start
    3. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    4. Accept SureCheck
    5. Tick all boxes to give Absa your consent to process the application
      Click Let’s continue
    6. A pre-qualified loan amount and term will display. Enter the amount you would like to borrow and the term. The calculator will display the estimated loan instalment for the selected amount and term
      Fill in the required details
      Click Let’s continue
    7. Confirm your personal details
      Click Let’s continue
    8. Confirm your employment details
      Click Let’s continue
    9. Confirm your income and expenses details
      Click Let’s continue
    10. The loan you qualify for will display. Accept, save or reject the offer
      If you accept the offer, choose the notification method for your credit agreement
      Click Submit
    11. Check your DebiCheck debit order details and accept

    12. Congratulations. Your loan application has been approved and your loan will be paid into your account

  • How to reverse your debit order

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Select Transact on the side menu
    4. Click My Debit Orders
    5. Select the account that was used to make the debit order payment
      View your debit order, then select Stop and Reverse
    6. Select Reverse payment
      Choose the reason for the reversal, accept the disclaimer and then click Next
    7. Accept the verification request
    8. Debit order is successfully reversed

    Note: Debit orders older than 40 days cannot be reversed on the app.

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. From the Full Service tab click on Profile, then Card Management
    4. Click Manage card
    5. Accept SureCheck
    6. Click Done
    7. From the dropdown arrow select the card you are replacing, the reason, the product and card type
    8. Select the delivery address and add details
      Click Next
    9. Verify the details and click on Order replacement card
    10. Accept SureCheck
    11. Tap Done

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Click Accounts & Cards on the side menu
    3. Click More, then select Manage from the dropdown
    4. Click Manage my cards

    6. Click the edit icon and accept the verification request

  • How to link your accounts to your Online Banking profile

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Full service in the top right of your screen
    4. Click on the Profile tab
      Scroll down and select Link/Unlink accounts
    5. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    6. On the Accounts sub-tab, select the account you want to link and click on the Link icon
      The account will now move to the Accounts linked side
      Click Save
    7. The account is linked successfully
      Click Done

     

    Note: You can link and unlink accounts on your individual profile only. Rewards accounts or accounts where monthly fees are paid from cannot be unlinked.

    1. On Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen

    5. Select the Manage account tab
    6. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    7. Enter the amount you want to withdraw, due date and payment instruction

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen

    6. Select the account into which your rewards cash is to be paid in, enter the amount you want to transfer, then click Next
