How to register/login

  • How to register

    1. Download the Absa App from Google Play or the App Store
    2. Tap on I’m already with Absa
    3. Select Register for Digital Banking
      Enter your ATM card number followed by your ATM PIN and tap Continue
    4. Confirm your contact details and accept the verification request
      Accept the Personal Client Agreement and tap Continue
    5. Select your access account and your billing account for online banking fees
    6. Create a 5-digit PIN
      Create and confirm your Password 
    7. You are now successfully registered on the Absa Banking App

    1. Select the Absa Banking App icon on your cellphone
    2. Enter your Passcode or scan your fingerprint or face if you have enabled biometric login

    4. Select the relevant card
    5. Tap Retrieve PIN

  • How to link a new device (if you have your current device)

     

    1. Open your Absa App on your new device
    2. Tap I’m already with Absa
    3. Tap Log in
      Enter your access account number, PIN number and your user number
      Tap Log in
    4. Enter the missing characters of your online password
      Tap Continue
    5. Accept the verification request sent to your current device
    6. Enter your new device nickname or select Skip to continue
    7. Create a new 5-digit passcode
      Re-enter the new passcode to confirm
    8. Passcode is successfully created
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
    9. Select Yes to accept new device as your verification device
    10. Accept the verification request sent to your current device
    11. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to re-link a device (if you don't have a current device)

    1. Open your Absa App
    2. Tap I’m already with Absa
    3. Tap Log in
      Enter your access account number, PIN number and your user number
      Tap Log in
    4. Enter the missing characters of your online password
      Tap Continue
    5. On the Verification screen select I’m not receiving my verification
      Select I deleted and reinstalled the app
      Note: the current verification device will be de-linked

      Tap Confirm
    6. Enter the Passcode for the app that you have deleted
      Enter your ATM card number and PIN
      Tap Continue
    7. Enter your new device nickname or select ‘Skip’ to continue
    8. Create a new 5-digit passcode
      Re-enter the new passcode to confirm
    9. Passcode is successfully created
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app

  • How to redeem an in-coming SWIFT transaction

    1. A SWIFT payment SMS is sent to your cellphone
    2. Logon to your Absa Banking App
    3. Tap Menu
    4. Tap International Banking
    5. Select SWIFT transactions
    6. Incoming SWIFT transactions displayed with an option to share your account details
    7. Select Incoming SWIFT transaction to redeem
    8. Select Sender type (Individual or Company), Reason for Payment and Sub-category for Payment
      Tap Next
    9. A summary of the transaction is displayed with a Reserve Bank Declaration
    10. Tap Accept transaction
    11. Transaction is successful

  • How to make an immediate interbank payment

    1. Logon to your Absa Banking App
    2. Tap Pay 
    3. Select Pay new beneficiary
    4. Fill in the beneficiary name, banking details their reference number, your reference and payment notification
      Tap Next
    5. Proceed to the payment screen
      Fill in the amount you want to pay
      Select Immediate interbank payment 
      Tap Next
    6. Confirm the payment details and accept the disclaimer by clicking Accept & Pay
    7. A final payment confirmation wil pop up
      Tap Accept to confirm the verification request to finanlise your payment
    8. Immediate interbank payment is successful

  • How to make a once-off CashSend

    1. Log in to your Absa Banking App
    2. Tap the CashSend icon 
    3. Select Once-off cashsend
    4. Select account to pay from
      Insert amount you want to pay
      Enter recipient name, surname and mobile number
      Enter your reference
      Enter a 6 digit ATM access PIN and tap Next
    5. Tap Continue to confirm the beneficiary’s information  
    6. Beneficiary will be added automatically
    7. Enter the amount you would like to send 
    8. Enter your reference and access PIN 
      Tap Next
    9. Tap CashSend
    10. For security reasons, you may share the ATM access PIN with the recipient 
    11. Your CashSend transaction is successful

How to buy prepaid

  • How to buy prepaid electricity for a new beneficiary

    1. Logon to the Absa Banking App
    2. Tap on the Buy electricity icon in the top right of screen
    3. Tap Buy for someone new
    4. Enter Recipient meter number
      Tap Done
    5. Enter Meter name
      Confirm the Meter details displayed on the screen
      Tap Continue
    6. On the Purchase details screen select the account you would like to use
      Enter the amount
    7. Select the notification option how you would like to receive the token
    8. Tap Continue
      Tap Purchase to confirm
    9. On the Confirm Purchase screen accept the acknowledgement
      Tap on Purchase
    10. Accept the verification request that pops up
    11. Your prepaid electricity purchase is successful and your token will display on screen
      Tap Done

     

    Note: You can purchase a prepaid minimum amount of R30 to a maximum of

    R1 000 per day. A prepaid maximum amount of R3 000 can be purchased per month. For prepaid electricity queries please call us on 08600 08600.

    3. Select beneficiary
    4. On the Purchase details screen select the account you would like to use

    5. Select the notification option how you would like to receive the token
      Tap Continue
    6. On the Confirm Purchase screen accept the acknowledgement
      Tap on Purchase
    7. Accept the verification request that pops up
    8. Your prepaid electricity purchase is successful and your token will display on screen
      Tap Done

  • How to resend a prepaid electricity token

    1. Logon to the Absa Banking App
    2. Tap Buy electricity in the top right of the screen
    3. Tap Purchase history, then
      Select the beneficiary you wish to resend the token for
    4. Select the Successful purchase you want to resend
    5. The token will be displayed on the screen
    6. Tap on the Share function in the top right of the screen to resend the token
    7. Select your preferred communication channel to resend the token
    8. Your token is successfully resent

    2. Tap Menu in the bottom right of your screen
    3. Tap Cards
    4. Select the relevant Card
    5. Tap View card details

  • How to reverse a debit order

    1. Logon to the Absa Banking App
    2. Tap Menu in the bottom right of your screen
    3. Tap Debit orders
    4. Select the account that was used to make the debit order payment
      Under Recent debit orders tap on the debit order you would like to reverse
    5. View Transaction details
      Tap Reverse Payment
    6. Read the Important Information and tap Next
    7. Select a Reason for reversal
      Accept the acknowledgement
      Tap Reverse payment
    8. Accept the verification request that pops up
    9. Debit order is successfully reversed
      Tap Done

     

    Debit orders older than 40 days cannot be reversed on the app.

     

    The limit for an in-app debit order reversal is R500. Should you need to reverse a higher amount, please forward a request to debitorder@absa.co.za or visit your nearest branch.

  • How to add a beneficiary to your Ultimate Protector Plan

    1. Logon to the Absa Banking App
    2. Tap on your Life @ Absa Online policy
    3. Tap Manage
      Tap Manage beneficiaries
    4. Tap Add beneficiary
      Fill in your Beneficiary details
      Tap Continue
    5. Fill in beneficiary contact details
      Tap Continue
    6. Allocate a percentage for each beneficiary or tap Share equally
      Tap Continue
    7. Review all details
      Tap Confirm
    8. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    9. Your beneficiary is successfully added
      Tap Done

    7. Tap the three dots on the top right to save or share your statement
