Absa Online Banking  

  • How to register

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Click Register
    3. On the Absa Online Registration page, enter your details and the code on the screen
      Click Next
    4. Enter your ATM card number and PIN
      Click Next
    5. Select the account to be charged
      Enter your email address and select your title
    6. Read and accept the Personal Client Agreement
      Click Next
    7. Under the Absa Online Security Information section, choose a strong 5-digit PIN
      Confirm the PIN for Absa Online
      Click Register
    8. Confirm SureCheck
    9. You are now registered to use Absa Online Banking

  • How to log in for the first time

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Enter your Access account number
    3. Enter your Online PIN
    4. Verify the user number (Note: This field is defaulted to main User 1. Other users given access to the account need to enter the user number allocated to them)
    5. Click Next
    6. Set up your password and click Logon
    7. You will be directed to the Absa Online main account page

  • How to log in

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Enter your Access account number
    3. Enter your Online PIN
    4. Verify the user number (Note: This field is defaulted to main User 1. Other users given access to the account need to enter the user number allocated to them)
      Click Next
    5. Enter the missing characters of your password that you created when you logged in to Absa Online Banking for the first time (Note: Password is case sensitive)
      Click Logon
    6. You will be directed to the Absa Online main account page

  • How to reset your password

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Log into your account using your credentials
    3. Select Personal from the first dropdown
    4. Enter your access account number, PIN number, user number and 
      Click Proceed
    5. If you have forgotten your password or if your password is blocked, click Forgot your password
    6. Surecheck/RVN will be delivered to the cellphone number in our records
    7. Confirm the transaction as instructed in the message sent to your cellphone
    8. Enter a new password 
      Confirm your new password
      Click Next
    9. Your password will now be changed and you should be able to log in to Absa Online

  • How to reset your PIN

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Log into your account using your credentials
    3. Select Personal
    4. Click Reset pin 
      Enter your access account number, PIN number, user number  
      Click Proceed
    5. Surecheck/RVN will be delivered to the cell phone number on our records
    6. Confirm the transaction as instructed in the message sent to your cell phone
    7. Enter only the required characters of your password, your ATM card number and PIN number 
      Click Next
    8. Choose a strong 5-digit PIN 
      Confirm your 5-digit PIN 
      Click Next
    9. Your PIN is now changed  
    10. Click Done

  • How to link a new device (if you have your current device)

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Menu in the top left of your screen
    4. Scroll down and select Settings
    5. Click Manage devices
    6. Select Link a device
    7. Download the Absa Banking App on your device
      Click I have installed the App once download is complete
    8. You will be prompted to choose if you have your current verification device with you
      Should you have the current device, select Yes, I have it
      Accept the verification request sent to the current device.
    9. A QR code will pop up
    10. Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
      Select I’m already with Absa
      Tap Scan QR code on the top
      Scan the QR code using your device
    11. Enter device nickname then tap Next or Skip to continue
    12. Create a new 5-digit app passcode
      Re-enter 5-digit passcode to confirm
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
      Tap Continue
    13. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to re-link a device (if you don't have your current device)

     

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Menu in the top left of your screen
    4. Scroll down and select Settings
    5. Click Manage devices
      Select Link a device
    6. Download the Absa Banking App on your device
      Click I have installed the App once download is complete
    7. On the prompt screen select No, I don’t have it if you don’t have a current verification device
    8. Select the reason for verification device being unavailable
      Note: read the details in the information box
      Click Next
    9. Enter your previous App passcode, ATM card number and PIN
      Click Next
    10. A QR code will pop up
    11. Open your Absa Banking App to link new device
      Select I’m already with Absa
      Tap Scan QR code on the top
      Scan the QR code using your device
    12. Enter device nickname then tap Next or Skip to continue
    13. Create a new 5-digit app passcode
      Re-enter 5-digit passcode to confirm
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
      Tap Continue
    14. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to register a non-transactional account

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Click Register
    3. On the Absa Online Registration page enter your details and the captcha code and click Next
    4. Enter title and email address
      Tick the Personal Client Agreement checkbox
      Click Next
    5. Create a strong PIN you will use to logon to your Online Banking account
      Confirm the PIN
      Click on Register
    6. Accept SureCheck sent to your registered device
    7. Registration is successful
      Click Done

Absa Banking App

  • How to link a new device using Facial Biometrics

    1. Open your Absa Banking App
    2. Select Link this device
      Enter your South African ID number
      Tap Next
    3. Tick to accept the Terms and Conditions
      Tap Scan my face
    4. Tap on Allow to access your phone’s camera
    5. Look directly at your phone to scan your face
    6. A verification message will be sent to your app or cellphone number
      Tap Next
    7. Accept the verification message sent to your app or cellphone number
    8. Enter your new device nickname or tap Skip to continue
    9. Create a new 5-digit passcode
      Re-enter the new passcode to confirm
    10. Your passcode is successfully created
      You may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app (depending on your device)
    11. Your device is successfully linked
      Tap Done

     

    Note: Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Absa Banking App and that your cellphone number is updated with Absa.

  • How to register

    1. Download the Absa App from Google Play or the App Store
    2. Tap on I’m already with Absa
    3. Select Register for Digital Banking
      Enter your ATM card number followed by your ATM PIN and tap Continue
    4. Confirm your contact details and accept the verification request
      Accept the Personal Client Agreement and tap Continue
    5. Select your access account and your billing account for online banking fees
    6. Create a 5-digit PIN
      Create and confirm your Password 
    7. You are now successfully registered on the Absa Banking App

  • How to re-register

    1. Open your Absa Banking App
    2. Select I’m already with Absa
    3. Enter your account number and card PIN
    4. Tap Log in
    5. Enter the missing characters of your password
    6. Tap Continue
    7. Approve the verification request sent to your primary device
    8. Select a possible reason for not receiving your verification
    9. The current verification device will be delinked
      Tap Confirm
    10. Enter the passcode of the App you deleted
    11. Enter your ATM card number and PIN
      Tap Continue
    12. Enter the nickname of your linked device or tap Skip
    13. Create a 5-digit passcode
    14. Passcode created successfully
    15. Tap Continue
    16. Your device is now your verification device

  • How to log in

    1. Select the Absa Banking App icon on your cellphone
    2. Enter your Passcode or scan your fingerprint/face if you have enabled biometric login
    3. You are now logged in

  • How to link a new device

    1. Open your Absa Banking App
    2. Select Link this device
      Enter your South African ID number
      Tap Next
    3. Tick to accept the Terms and Conditions
      Tap Scan my face

    Note: This linking process is only available if you have a valid South Africa ID number and photo registered with the Department of Home Affairs.

    Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Absa Banking App and that your cellphone number is updated with Absa.

    If you are using an alternative identification method, you may link your device using your existing logon details.

    1. Open your Absa Banking App on your new device
    2. Tap I’m already with Absa
    3. Tap Log in
      Enter your access account number, PIN number and your user number
      Tap Log in
    4. Enter the missing characters of your online password
      Tap Continue
    5. Accept the verification request sent to your current device
    6. Enter your new device nickname or select Skip to continue
    7. Create a new 5-digit passcode
      Re-enter the new passcode to confirm
    8. Passcode is successfully created
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
    9. Select Yes to accept new device as your verification device
    10. Accept the verification request sent to your current device
    11. Your new device is successfully linked

  • How to re-link a device (if you don't have your current device)

    1. Open your Absa Banking App
    2. Tap I’m already with Absa
    3. Tap Log in
      Enter your access account number, PIN number and your user number
      Tap Log in
    4. Enter the missing characters of your online password
      Tap Continue
    5. On the Verification screen select I’m not receiving my verification
      Select I deleted and reinstalled the app 
      Note: the current verification device will be de-linked

      Tap Confirm
    6. Enter the Passcode for the app that you have deleted
      Enter your ATM card number and PIN
      Tap Continue
    7. Enter your new device nickname or select ‘Skip’ to continue
    8. Create a new 5-digit passcode
      Re-enter the new passcode to confirm
    9. Passcode is successfully created
      Dependent on your device you may enable Touch ID or Facial recognition for your app
    10. Tap Continue
    11. Your device is successfully re-linked

Cellphone Banking

  • How to register

    1. Add the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*2272# to your contacts
    2. Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number from your contact list to begin your registration
    3. Select 1 to proceed 
      Tap Send
    4. Select 1 to accept the terms and conditions
      Tap Send
    5. Enter either your SA ID number or your passport number and
      Tap Send
    6. Enter a 5-digit numeric PIN 
      Tap Send
    7. You have successfully registered

    You do not need airtime to bank using Absa Cellphone Banking.

  • How to log in

    1. Dial the Absa Cellphone banking number *120*2272# from your contact list
    2. Enter your 5-digit PIN
      Tap Send
    3. You will be taken directly to the Cellphone Banking menu

  • How to reset your PIN

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your LAST KNOWN 5-digit PIN
      Tap Send
    2. Select option 1 to Reset PIN
      Tap Send
    3. Enter your ID/Passport number
      Tap Send
    4. Enter a new 5 digit PIN
      Tap Send
    5. Your PIN is now successfully reset

     

    Safety tip: We will never send you a link requesting your PIN and password

  • How to retrieve forgotten PIN

    1. Dial *120*2272# and enter your LAST KNOWN 5-digit PIN
      Tap Send
    2. Select option 1 to Reset PIN
      Tap Send
    3. Enter your ID/Passport number
      Tap Send
    4. Enter a new 5 digit PIN
      Tap Send
    5. Your PIN is now successfully reset

     

    Safety tip: We will never send you a link requesting your PIN and password
