    Have peace of mind with an Islamic Will

    • The Islamic Will is a valid legal will in accordance with the Wills Act, with specific requirements for the distribution of an estate in terms of Shari’ah, and is drafted according to the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee approved template. 
    • Omnichannel estate administration: Deceased Estates intake is done online, telephonically or face to face, leveraging world class technology with optimised processes 
    • Trust administration: Drafting of an Islamic trust deed and establishment of trusts, including inter vivos and testamentary trusts. Administration of trusts by a professional and independent trustee to ensure the growth and protection of assets. Highly qualified legal and fiduciary experts ensure easy, timeous and accurate winding up of the estate.
    • Distribution of estate as per Shari’ah principles. 
    • We use estate planning tools and processes to create opportunities to draft Shari’ah-compliant Wills, and offer safe and secure custody of signed Wills 

  • How it works

    • The cost of drawing up an Islamic Will is R342.
    • Executor’s fees: 3.5% + VAT of the gross asset value.
    • If you choose the safe custody option where Absa Trust will keep the Will in safe custody for an annual fee of R60 then you are entitled to a 15% discount of the executor’s fees.
    • If you are 60 years old and above, with assets to the value of R300 000 or more, the services are free.

  • Terms and conditions

    To get a Shariah compliant Will, you need to be: 

    • Single, or
    • Married out of community of property without accrual, or
    • Married according to Islamic law
