  • How to qualify

    Here’s what you need to do to get real cash back:

    • Open an Absa Ultimate or Ultimate Plus bank account before 31 October 2025.
    • Move your salary to your new account.
    • Have at least four new debit orders in the first 60 days of opening your account.
    • Use your card 5 times – online, in-store, or tap-to-pay.
    • Keep your account in good standing.

     

    Your salary must be at least R7000 for the Ultimate Banking account and R25 000 for the Ultimate Plus account.

  • How it works

    You get:

    • R1 000 when you open an Ultimate or Ultimate Plus account.
    • R1 500 if you open an Ultimate or Ultimate Plus account and get an Enhances Credit Facility or Balance Booster.

    This campaign is from 1 August 2025 to 31 October 2025.

Frequently asked questions

  • Who qualifies for the cash back?

    Only new-to-bank customers who open a qualifying transactional account during the campaign period and meet  all criteria within 60 days of account opening qualify for the cash back.

  • What must I do to earn the reward?

    You must:

    • Open an Absa Ultimate or Ultimate plus bank account before 31 October 2025.
    • Move your salary to your new account.
    • Have at least four new debit orders in the first 60 days of opening your account.
    • Use your card 5 times – online, in-store, or tap-to-pay.
    • Keep your account in good standing.

  • What counts as a qualifying salary switch?

    A salary switch happens when your full salary is paid into a new account.

  • What counts as a qualifying debit order?

    Any recurring monthly debit orders (e.g., insurance, loan repayments, subscriptions) that are successfully  processed from the new account within 60 days of opening your account.

  • Do online purchases or tap-to-pay count as card swipes?

    Yes. Point-of-sale purchases, online card transactions, and contactless (tap) payments all count as swipes,  as long as you use your physical or virtual bank card. 

  • When will I get the cash back?

    You will get your cash back in your Absa Rewards account once you've completed all the steps within the 60-day period, and everything has been verified. This usually happens within 60 working days after completing the steps.

  • Can existing customers qualify?

    No, this campaign is only for new customers.  

  • What if I only completes two out of the three steps?

    You must complete all three three steps within 60 days of opening your to get cash back.

    1. Switch your salary to your new Ultimate or Ultimate Plus account.
    2. Have at least four new debit orders.
    3. Use your card 5 times – online, in-store, or tap-to-pay.
  • How can I switch my salary and debit orders?

    You can use your Absa Online, Cellphone Banking or your Absa Banking App to switch your salary and debit orders to your new account.

  • When does the campaign end?

    31 October 2025.
