How to qualify for R2 500 cash

  • Qualifying criteria

    Step 1 criteria:

    • Open or hold a transactional account.
    • Sign up or already have Absa Rewards
    • Have your salary deposited into your Absa Transactional account for at least 2 months during the campaign period.
      • R12 000 into a cheque account each month
      • R3 500 into a Savings Account each month.
    • Set up a minimum of 2 new debit orders which should run successfully off the account within the campaign period.
    • Do a minimum of 5 financial transactions on any digital platform each month for the duration of the campaign period. For example, purchase prepaid airtime or electricity, make payments, play LOTTO etc.
       

    Note: All STEP 1 conditions to be met within 3 months of receiving the STEP 1 campaign SMS from the Top Tier team or within 3 months of opening the Transactional account
     

    Step 2 criteria:

    • Take up any combination of products to move up from the Absa Rewards tier you were on at the end of STEP 1.
       

    Note: All STEP 2 conditions to be met within 1 month of receiving the STEP 2 campaign SMS from the Top Tier team.

     

  • Who qualifies

    • All new customers that opened an cheque/savings account between 01 April 2024 – 31 May 2024
    • All existing customers with a relationship with Absa before 1 April 2024

    • Call us on 0860 100 372 choose option 1 then option 5
    • Absa Banking App
      • Log in to your banking app
      • Click on Menu
      • Select the Move salary and debit orders and follow the prompts
    • Connected Banking
      • Log in to Online Banking
      • Click Transact
      • Select the Move now and follow the prompts
         

    What you get if you meet the qualifying criteria:

    • Customers who have successfully met the STEP 1 conditions will qualify for a payout of R500
    • Customers who have successfully met the STEP 2 conditions will qualify for an additional payout of R500 if they are on Absa Rewards tier 2,3 or 4 at the end of STEP 2
    • Customers who have successfully met the STEP 2 conditions and are on Absa Rewards tier 5 at the end of STEP 2 will qualify for an additional payout of R2 000.

  • Campaign dates

    Customers opening new transactional accounts will have an option to participate in this campaign from 1 April 2024 up until 31 May 2024.

    • Customers will have 3 months to meet the conditions of STEP 1 and 1 month after the end of STEP 1 to meet the conditions of STEP 2.
      • For example, accounts of customers who start STEP 1 on 1 April 2024 will be monitored until 30 June 2024, and thereafter STEP 2 will commence on 1 August 2024 and these accounts will be monitored until 31 August 2024.
