How to play Daily Lotto and PowerBall

  1. Download the Absa Banking App on your smartphone from the App Store or PlayStore.
  2. Register your profile and logon.
  3. Select the Lotto, Daily Lotto or PowerBall option from the menu on the home screen.
  4. Choose the game that you want to play, i.e. Lotto, Daily Lotto or PowerBall.
  5. You can select Quick Pick, which allows the system to select numbers for you.
  6. Or select your own numbers
    - You can select the numbers of future draws
    - Select the account from which you want to pay
    - Confirm your transaction.
  7. The playing cost is R5.00 per board.
  8. Remember that you can view your played transactions under Purchased ticket and replay your previous numbers. It’s that easy!

    You can Shuffle or Reset your numbers
  7. Play Board B
    If you want to play more boards, click Add a board
    Click Next
  8. Enter additional games if you wish for an extra board
    Select the number of times you would like to play your boards
    Click Next
  9. Enter your Contact mobile number
    Click Buy Daily Lotto
  10. You have successfully played Lotto

Daily Lotto

  • As an addition to the current Daily Lotto game, customers will be allowed to play Multiplay 1 from the launch date. The Daily Lotto will launch with Multiplay 1 only.   
    • Multiplay enables customers to select a sixth number to increase their chances of winning.
  • Customers can purchase up to five boards per ticket on the Banking App and CB. USSD will be up to three boards.
  • The system will calculate the total cost of the tickets based on the number of boards selected. The transaction fee of R2.50 will be added to the cost.
  • Each Daily Lotto entry costs R3 (including VAT).
  • Each entry must contain exactly five numbers (between 1 and 36).

Lotto

  • Digitally enabled Absa customers can select Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max under the Lotto menu on all three digitally supported channels.
    • The Lotto is an extension of the Lotto game. It provides a second chance to win in the Lotto game at an additional cost. Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max can only be played when playing the Lotto and the game boards entered for Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 MAX must be the same as the Lotto boards played.
  • A customer must select six numbers between 1 and 52:
    • The selection can be made manually.
    • A quick-pick selection can be done (i.e. the system automatically selects five numbers for the customer).
    • A dice selection can be done (i.e. when a customer selects to play manually, they then have a choice to click on the dice and the system will automatically complete the numbers). 
  • As an addition to the current Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max games, customers will be allowed to play Multiplay 1 and Multiplay 2.
    • Multiplay enables customers to select a seventh and eighth number to increase their chances of winning.
  • The system will calculate the total cost of the tickets based on the number of boards selected. A transaction fee of R2.50 will be added to the cost.
  • Lotto board cost: R5 (incl VAT), Lotto Plus 1: +R2.50, Lotto 5 Max: +R2.50.
  • Multiplay costs: Lotto: R35/R140, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max: R17.50/R70.
  • Customers cannot cancel online purchases. Only system cancellations can be processed for technical exceptions.

PowerBall

  • A digitally enabled Absa customer can select PowerBall and PowerBall Xtra under the Lotto menu on all three digitally supported channels.
  • Powerball has now three game plays, which are:
    • Ordinary: A customer can select five numbers + one additional number.
    • Multiplay 1: A customer can select six numbers + one additional number.
    • Multiplay 2: A customer can select seven numbers + one additional number.
  • A customer must select five numbers between 1 and 50 (ordinary):
    • The selection can be made manually.
    • A quick-pick selection can be done (i.e. the system automatically selects five numbers for the customer).
    • A dice selection can be done (i.e. when a customer selects to play manually, they then have a choice to click on the dice and the system will automatically complete the numbers). 
  • As an addition to the current PowerBall and PowerBall Xtra games, customers will be allowed to play Multiplay 1 and Multiplay 2.
    • Multiplay enables customers to select a seventh and eighth number to increase their chances of winning.
  • Customers can select up to 20 boards to purchase per ticket.
  • The system will calculate the total cost of the tickets based on the number of boards selected. A transaction fee of R2.50 will be added to the cost.
  • Ticket prices are correctly reflected as:
    • PowerBall: R10 (single), R60 (Multiplay 1), R210 (Multiplay 2) plus Absa’s transaction fees.
  • PowerBall Xtra: R5 (single), R30 (Multiplay 1), R105 (Multiplay 2) plus Absa’s transaction fees.
