  • Why this account?

    • The account can be opened in 18 different foreign
currencies.
    • No minimum balance is required.
    • There is no monthly account fee.
    • You can earn interest in foreign currency, which is payable
monthly.
    • Withdrawals may be made from the account.
    • You can make international payments using the account.
    • You can save up for travel in your currency of choice and
transfer funds in foreign currency from the account into a
Multi-currency Cash Passport when you travel*.

  • How to open

    1. Log in to your Absa Online banking profile.
    2. Select Apply.
    3. Expand the International Banking solutions tab.
    4. Click Open account now.
    5. Accept the SureCheck pop-up message on your cellphone or Absa Banking App.
    6. Complete the fields and click Next.
    7. Confirm all the details and click Open account.
    8. Your new account’s details will be sent to you via SMS.

    Once you open your Currency Investment Account, you can fund it with these simple steps:

    1. Log in to Internet Banking
    2. Select Full Service
    3. Click on Payments
    4. Click on Inter-account transfers
    5. Select International
    6. Credit your account
