  • Terms and conditions

    • R2000.00 embedded Accidental death cover for any 10 nominated members
    • Only the nominated members will be covered by the Accidental death cover
    • Nominated members between the ages of 18 (eighteen) and 64 (sixty four) years. This benefit will cease at the age of 65
    • No claim shall be paid if your account is no longer active or if you did not have the minimum account credit balance of R50. 00 in your account at the time of death
  • Risk Control Measures

    1.  No claim shall be paid if your account is no longer active or if you did not have the minimum account credit balance of R50. 00 in your account at the time of death
    2.  We shall not be obliged to consider any claim in respect of any event or condition arising directly or indirectly from, contributed to by, or traceable to:
    • Suicide or any attempted suicide within the first year from the commencement date of the policy
    • Any intentional contravention of any criminal law; misrepresentation or mis-description of any material facts in respect of a claim
    • Driving while the alcohol concentration in your blood exceeds the legal limit or while under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating liquor or drugs with a narcotic effect, unless prescribed by a duly qualified and registered medical practitioner
    • War or armed international conflict (whether war be declared or not), terrorist or insurgency activities, rebellion, civil commotion, sedition, sabotage or the defence, quelling, investigation or containment thereof by any security force
    • If any claim or part thereof is in any way fraudulent or if any fraudulent means or devices are used by you or anyone acting on your behalf to obtain any benefit, all benefits afforded in respect of such claims be forfeited, and this benefit cancelled as from the date of the fraudulent conduct
    • Any person authorised to claim this benefit on behalf of your estate should contact any Absa branch
  • How to claim

    A claimant can visit any Absa branch with the following documents:

    • The death certificate
    • The deceased’s ID
    • The claimant’s ID
    • A letter of authority, only if the account is closed when the claim is submitted

    The claimant will be given a claim form to fill in and the documents will then be sent to Absa Life for assessment and payout within 48hrs if it’s valid.
