What you need to know

  • Cash prizes

    • You could be one of the winners to get R1 000 cash just for nominating a stokvel of your choice. If you have any Absa Savings and Investments Account, you will win R2 000 cash.
    • If your stokvel wins, they get R50 000. And that’s not all, if your stokvel has an Absa Investment Club Account they win R100 000!

  • How to qualify

    Nominate a stokvel, savings club, burial society or an individual or organisation that supports stokvels.

    Your stokvel doesn’t need to bank with Absa, but it must be older than 6 months. However, if your stokvel banks with Absa or opens an Absa Stokvel or Club account, does not need to be older than 6 months.
     

    Visit any Absa branch to open an Absa Stokvel or Club account.

    • You can nominate any stokvel, savings club, burial society, individual or organisation that supports stokvels if they meet the qualifying criteria.

Recognising a stokvel that has made a significant positive impact on the community through social projects, donations or support initiatives.

Most Innovative Investment Stokvel
Recognising a club/stokvel that has successfully ventured into investments and/or an innovation-related initiative(s).

Best Stokvel in Financial Literacy and Leadership
Recognising a stokvel that provides financial education to its members and has good governance and transparency in its leadership.

Best Travel Club Award
Recognising a travel club/stokvel that has increased the accessibility of travel and tourism.

Best Stokvel Enablers
Recognising organisations, businesses and individuals that amplify or develop and have a positive impact on the stokvel community.

Best Digitally Empowered Stokvel
Recognising a stokvel that effectively uses technology for its operations and to better engage and benefit its members.

Most Unique Stokvel Award
Recognising a stokvel that demonstrates new ways of saving or investing for unique, impactful goals.

Lifetime Stokvel Achiever Award
Recognising a stokvel that has lasted for many years, while showing improvement and sustainability.
