Our challenges to choose from

  • Challenge 1: Banking perception for Gen Alpha

    Background:
Banking is perceived as difficult to understand and generally doesn't appeal to a younger generation. The way the next generation will access and perceive our products will differ vastly from the way the current generation does.

    Your challenge:
Make the Absa Student Credit Card and Absa Transact Debit Account appeal to the next generation which is named Generation Alpha (born from 2010 onwards) on the the Absa website. Focus on product education, signing-up and post-product management (accessing the product as an existing customer).

  • Challenge 2: Product education

    Background:
Not all customers are financially savvy and researching how our products work can be tedious and take hours.

    Your challenge:
Provide customers with a way to get real time financial advice 24/7 by creating an omni-channel help tool that will assist customers with queries across the Absa Banking App, Absa Online Banking and the Absa website.

Make sure that the advice is actionable and easy for the users to understand, and that the content is Search Engine Optimised for search engines like Google.

  • Challenge 3: Multi-product onboarding

    Background:
Customers can only apply for one Absa product at a time with no option to select multiple products at once even though many of our products share the same requirements and personal information about customers.

    Your challenge:
Create a way for our users to apply for multiple products at once on the Absa website, like an e-commerce store. Also consider how we could cross-sell our complimentary products such as insurance and other credit options. Make sure that your solution is mobile friendly.

  • Challenge 4: Omni Channel Experience

    Background:
We live in a day and age where customers are engaging with our bank on different devices at different times. We aim to offer an omni-channel experience that is consistent and accessible on different devices

    Your challenge:
Design an experience that allows a user to make a payment using their Absa Banking App, a smart watch and a desktop/laptop (Absa Online). The process should be consistent across devices and also allow the user to resume their payment on any device if they dropped off.
