Our online platform, called Procurement Portal, connects SMMEs to corporate and government buyers to help SMMEs identify markets.

  • Buyers can search for SMMEs in a particular region, of a certain profile and with a particular capacity
  • The portal encourages corporates and government entities to buy more services and products from SMMEs
  • It helps SMMEs find business opportunities
How it works
  • Suppliers of all sizes, industries and profiles can register their business information on the portal
  • Corporate and government entity buyers can search for accredited suppliers in particular regions and industries and with a specific profile
  • Registration and interaction takes place on an independent website - subscription contracts and costs are managed by Supply Chain Network (SCNet)
  • Registered suppliers get daily notifications of public leads and tenders issued
Enterprise Development Centres

We have 7 Enterprise Development Centres across South Africa, which are hubs for emerging SMEs to receive training; access computers and boardrooms; and benefit from networking opportunities.

Some of the business development services offered to SMEs include:

  • Hot-seats/workstations and boardroom(s)/meeting rooms with telecom facilities for EDC members.
  • Advisory services on:
    • Absa ED offerings (including the Procurement Portal, Procurement Finance and Developmental/Equity Funding).
  • Workshops focusing on:
    • Business plans (review), cash flows, licenses, permits, registration regulations and documents required to start and/or register a business, tax compliance etc.
    • Entrepreneurial skills development, financial literacy, business principles etc.
  • Provision of network platforms through business seminars.
