More benefits and features

  • Merchants have access to the Masterpass portal.
  • Reconciliation made easy: the Masterpass portal enables merchants to monitor and view all transactions, process reversals or refunds.
  • A specific QR code is generated for every transaction.
  • Merchant customers are required to download any of the free digital wallets where they can load any Mastercard or Visa debit, credit or cheque cards.
  • Merchant customers can use Zapper, Snapscan, VodaPay and Masterpass apps on their phones to make payments.

Masterpass Portal Manual

  • Qualifying criteria

    •  You need to be an Absa merchant.
    • Agree to the 2.50% fixed rate for all QR transactions.

  • How to apply

    We will need the following when you apply:

    • Absa Merchant number
    • Device identity number

    Once your Masterpass registration is complete, you will receive an email from Masterpass with instructions on how to register on the Masterpass portal.

    How to accept payment using the Link 2500

    • Press the F button
    • Select Applications
    • Select MasterPass
    • Select Pay
    • Enter the Rand Value
    • Once the QR code is displayed, the customer can scan the code using his mobile phone
    • The customer will immediately receive an email confirmation of the transaction result

    How to accept payment using the Move 3500

    • Press the White button on your device
    • Select Applications
    • Select MasterPass
    • Select Pay
    • Enter the Rand Value
    • Once the QR code is displayed
    • If you want to print the QR code, press the Green button
    • The customer can scan the code using his mobile phone
    • Once the payment is complete, the device will print a slip
    • The customer will immediately receive an email confirmation of the transaction result

    How to accept payment using the Ingenico IWL250

    • Press the F button
    • Select Applications
    • Select MasterPass
    • Select Pay
    • Enter the Rand Value
    • Once the QR code is displayed
    • If you want to print the QR code, press the Green button
    • The customer can scan the code using his mobile phone
    • The customer will immediately receive an email confirmation of the transaction result
