  • Top up your airtime and prepaid Telkom or Eskom accounts

  • You don’t need a salary slip or credit check to get a Prepaid card
  • You can change your card’s PIN at any Absa ATM
  • Receive electronic payments via Absa Online or Cellphone and Telephone Banking from relatives or from your employer
  • Use CashSend to send money to anyone in South Africa, even if they don’t have a bank account or card

  • Absa ATM withdrawals, mini-statements, balance enquiries and CashSend transactions
  • Prepaid airtime top-ups on all networks
  • Prepaid Telkom and Eskom transactions

In addition, as a Prepaid debit card holder we don’t charge you:

  • Monthly administration fees
  • Service fees
  • Transaction fees at till points

  • Your green, bar-coded South African identity document or card
  • If you’re not a South African resident:
    • A valid passport and permit allowing permanent residence in South Africa in terms of the Immigration Act, 13 of 2002
    • If you’re a resident of Namibia, Swaziland or Lesotho, a valid passport
    • If you’re a refugee, a valid Refugee identity document or United Nations Certified Travel Document. If you have any other Absa products or if you need more than one Prepaid card, proof of residence not older than 3 months
