    1. Apply for a merchant account with us using the 'Sign me up' form below and we'll call you back; contact our dedicated Helpdesk on 0860 111 222; or visit an Absa branch near you.
    2. We will deliver your device to your doorstep through our friendly courier service.
    3. Call African Resonance Helpdesk on 087 741 2193 to activate your device.
    4. Start accepting payments instantly and easily.

    1. You have the option to email or SMS your customer’s receipt to them at no cost.
    2. No compatible smartphone, Bluetooth pairing or additional application required.
    3. View transaction history or resend receipts using the SmartPay Merchant Portal.

  • What it costs

    Choose between a SmartPay device package only OR the new SmartPay Package which includes a Business Essential Plus bank account.

    SmartPay device only

    Accept payments on the go for a single monthly fee of R199.

    Initial cost:

    • No additional device cost
    • Delivery fee: R250 for the first delivery of up to three devices. Thereafter R100 per additional device in the same delivery.

    Transaction fees:

    • 2.50% on both credit and debit cards
    • 2.75% on all International cards.

    All fees exclude VAT.

     

    SmartPay Package

    It's better together.

    Why  wait to be settled? With an Absa Business Essential Plus Account your money will be available the next morning.

    Open a Business Essential Plus Account PLUS sign up for a SmartPay device and you will only pay a monthly fee of R235.00. Regular cost without SmartPay is R390.

    SmartPay single monthly fee of R199 not included.

  • Payment Pebble® to SmartPay notice.

    To ensure we offer you the best service in the industry, we have decided to hand over the supply and maintenance of Payment Pebble® to Thumbzup. With effect from Friday, 21 February 2020, we will no longer directly maintain and offer the Payment Pebble®.

    Large merchants who have integrated the Payment Pebble® and software into their business systems will engage and contract with Thumbzup going forward for all Payment Pebble® sales, support and maintenance. You can contact Thumbzup through their website.   

    All other Payment Pebble® merchants will be asked to upgrade to SmartPay.

    As a token of our appreciation, all Payment Pebble® merchants that upgrade to SmartPay will pay a monthly fee of R149 per month, (down from R199) until the end of December 2019.

    To upgrade, merchants can:

    • Complete the digital form on www.absa.co.za/smartpay.
    • Dial 0860 111 222 for a Helpdesk agent to raise the upgrade request on MOB Lite.
    • Visit an Absa Business Bank and request an upgrade.
