Now everyone can get instant cash even without a bank account...


With CashSend from Absa, receiving and sending money is quick and easy.  CashSend allows Absa customers to transfer cash from their own cheque or savings account's to anyone around the country. The recipient can then visit one of Absa’s many ATMs to withdraw the sent cash, without needing a bank card or account.  All you’ll need is the reference number and access code, which is sent to you via SMS.

 

CashSend is useful in a number of everyday situations:

  • People who regularly send money across the country to family members without bank accounts.
  • Parents sending money to their children.
  • Paying your household staff or gardeners, or
  • If you have just lost your bank card, you can send funds to yourself.

Sending money is quick:

Receiving cash is easy:

  • You don't need a bank account or card to withdraw the money.
  • Just go to any of over 5 000 Absa ATMs nationwide. Select the ‘CashSend Withdrawal’ option.  Enter the 10-digit code you receive via SMS. Enter the 6-digit code and the exact amount you receive from the sender. Get the cash.
  • You must withdraw the full amount.
  • It's FREE to withdraw cash using CashSend.

Important things you should know:

  • You should create a numeric 6-digit access code during the transaction.
  • You must provide the recipient with the 6-digit access code and the exact value of funds transferred
  • Once you’ve confirmed the transaction the CashSend system will send a 10-digit code to the recipient’s cell phone.
  • The person sending the money through CashSend will be charged a transaction fee. The recipient is not charged for withdrawing the funds.
  • The full amount of sent money must be withdrawn for each transaction – partial withdrawals are not permitted.
  • If any of the PIN codes are lost, the sender can retrieve them using Internet, Cellphone or ATM Banking.
  • Payment of up to R 1 000 can be made on Internet and Cellphone Banking and up to R 3 000 for payments made via an ATM.
  • Cash can be sent from a cheque or savings account only. Credit card transactions are not permitted.
