Telephone Banking
Would you like the convenience of being able to bank anytime, anywhere, with a simple phone call? With Absa Telephone Banking you can bank instantly, day or night, 365 days a year using the nearest phone.
There are two types of Telephone Banking services to choose from - Self-help Banking, so you can do your banking telephonically without having to wait; and Agent-assisted Banking, so you can talk to an agent who will perform banking transactions on your behalf.
With a host of transactions only a phone call away, banking has never been easier or more hassle-free.

Telephone Banking could be the right choice if you:
- Want the freedom to bank anytime, anywhere, over the telephone
- Would like to check your account balances, request statements and make payments without having to wait in line at a branch
- Check your balances
- Recharge prepaid airtime
- Transfer funds between your linked accounts and third parties
- Pay your bills and settle your accounts over the telephone
- Load and maintain account beneficiaries
- Maintain portfolios by requesting additional accounts to be linked
- Request statements or mini-statements
- Review the payment history of any specific beneficiary
- Create and change stop orders
- Stop payment of cheques
- Access Unit Trust Services, including repurchases and income transfers
Basic Service - to transact within your own account portfolio e.g. transfer funds between your accounts
- Call us and follow the voice prompts.
- Have your main account number and your Identity number ready
- Select a 6 to 12-digit PIN
- You will then be able to perform transactions immediately, either with the help of an agent or using the self-help system
Comprehensive Service - to transact outside your own account portfolio, e.g. pay third parties
- Visit your nearest Absa branch to obtain a 6 to 12-digit PIN and set the limits on your account. Remember to bring your ATM card and Identity Document with.
- Call us and follow the voice prompts.
- Have your main account number and chosen PIN ready
- Enter the PIN as requested by the voice prompt
- Remember to link your beneficiaries in order to pay third parties
- You will then be able to perform transactions immediately, either with the help of an agent or using the self-help system
When registering for Absa Telephone Banking, ensure that you set the following daily transactional limits at your branch:
- Transfers external to your portfolio
- Account payments
- Inter-account payments
- Future-dated payments (e.g. only to be paid at a later stage)
- Stop orders
